The Carpet Weaving Workshop in the village Kosalar has been launched by the late Ryan Smith, in the framework of the project “reWoven”. The project endeavors to save this craft from complete extinction by creating high quality rugs that embody the aesthetics and methods of centuries past, while maximizing their benefit for Azerbaijani carpet weavers from the Villages Kosalar (Marneuli Municipality, Kvemo Kartli) and Iormughanlo (Sagarejo Municipality, Kakheti). By applying hand spun wool yarn, natural dyes, and antique designs from the finest collections in the world which house rugs from this region, “reWoven”
brings these designs back to their place of origin.
