Mzia Buighlishvili is a sewing and embroidery master who lives in Batumi and for more than 26 years that she has been involved in crafts. She had worked for 16 years in Tbilisi at Mose Toidze college, but now she is head of the craft department of Adjara School of Folk Art. She creates different kinds of accessories, such as traditional “Kabalakhi”, collars, handbags, purses, sunglasses case, etc. Each of them is inspired by the motifs and ornaments typically for the Adjara region. She also participated in the "Grant Competition for the Development of Traditional Craftsmanship Products" announced by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, where he created a new product line in cooperation with the Georgian Heritage Crafts Association. Also, in the framework of this project new designs were developed using collections in Adjara museums and their prototypes were created. Her works are displayed in EthnoDesign.Mzia is actively participating in local and international exhibitions and festivals.
